Fantacalcio.it the assistant coach gives us: Google Assistant, Docker and AWS are the winning ingredients
The championship begins, the controversies, the surprises and… Fantasy Football® Action
arrives on Google Assistant.
Ready to help you on smartphones and on all Google smart speakers, the new Fantacalcio.it Action
for Google Assistant is a candidate to be the second coach for all fantasy players, supporting them in the best possible way in the very hard and cruel Serie A season that has just begun, it is no coincidence that the first term usually associated in Fantasy Football searches is “advice”.
With this novelty, fantasy players will be able to count on a valid and prepared assistant, starting from the auction at the beginning of the championship where Assistant will be able to provide statistics on individual players and quotes for matches during the season where the assistant will provide information on the probable formations and the evaluation of the players. To talk to us, just say “Ok Google, talk to Fantacalcio”.
The new Google Assistant action also provides various information and curiosities for those who are new to the world of Fantasy Football and want to quickly and easily learn more. The new tool is provided in parallel with the already well-known Fantasy Football Leagues platform.
Everything is beautiful, everything is simple, everything is fast… As always, however, behind it there was a masterful work of the technical staff of Fantacalcio.it who was able to revolutionize the approach to the game that involves and entertains millions of people every year.
The development work was certainly facilitated by a cloud infrastructure capable of constantly supporting the volume of traffic, facilitating the usability of the content and therefore improving the user experience.
As in the past
, this time the VMEngine Team was asked to study and build an infrastructure that could meet all the needs necessary for the project:
- Rapid scalability
- Cost Control
- Ease of management
- Reactivity
VMEngine’s AWS Associate Architects worked on these guidelines, leveraging docker technology combined with AWS services:
AWS Cloudfront
Used for content delivery with minimal latency.
Application Load Balancer (ALB)
Used for traffic balancing.
Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS)
Clusters containing tasks on Fargate, to easily run and scale containerized applications on AWS.
AWS Fargate
Chosen as a replacement for EC2, to reduce costs and increase responsiveness (a Fargate instance goes up in 45 seconds compared to almost 6 minutes for an EC2 Windows instance).
Amazon Aurora
Used to automate the most time-consuming database administration tasks at an affordable cost.
AWS CodeBuild
A system for building Docker images to be deployed in the ECS-Fargate system.
AWS CodePipeline
Ensures automatic continuous deployment with new code revisions pushed to the repository.
Now we just have to enjoy the results of the excellent work of the Fantacalcio.it Team which, as always, continues to innovate and innovate to give all the Fantallenatori a unique experience, which can evolve over time, without ever affecting the traditionalist soul of one of the most loved games by Italians.
